Stealing

Sunday we wandered around Northampton getting door photos and cold. Then we stopped in and Kathy got a lesson from Malea.
I thought at 1st that it may just be a long ride home.... but she liked it and she had a good teacher and she is a great student.

So it's a short week for me and On Friday while I am off I will be making the famous Sugar cookies , the Cashew Crunch and now I have the best ever Chocolate Chip Recipe. If you want some and I know you do...... You really do
Let me know , I'll check my list twice and I may even make some bread to go with it.

Sundays Bake

This is the best Bread Baking book I have ever used and I have been fortunate enough to have taken a few classes with the Author Jeffery Hamelman . Today I made the Cheese Bread with a sourdough preferment. As you can see it looks great, I'll taste it later.

I think it's good to have goals.

Since I started making bread I have always wanted a bigger oven. If you look back you will see that I pack the home oven with at least 6 if I can and have actually got 8 in on occasion.

And I love making Pots

So much to learn

Enjoy the Video

Taste Test

This bread is so good

I made it like a potato bread with a pate fermente

and if you bake it it stops bleeding

Beets Oh My

So I just never did like beets and then a few weeks back I got the Roasted Veggie sandwich and there in my food
was a roasted beet with my bite mark in it . That means I ate a Beet Root ....
Oh My...
So I decided to make a bread out of one 8 Oz beet and This is wild looking bread.

Malea's Pots

This is art
I call it " The 3 Sisters"
They fit together and they are so alike in so many ways  and they are lovely
I got them at Snow Farm

I like this tea bowl a lot
I bought it at a craft show here in New England someplace
This came from Costa Rica
Kathy's Grand Jessica said " How come you can see that ladys bum"

She said thats Jims

I like it

This one came from Montana out in Missoula
Its a B&B Pot

Pots I have bought over the years

I bought this in Steamboat back in 2005
I was out in the Rockies helping to pick out a route for a pipe between  Wyoming and Colorado

Fresh out of the Oven

They look pretty good but I should have scored the tops as I had a split out
This is toast bread and it is a favorite here and at the office.

Breads in the Oven and Half way there

So its a rainy day at home and good for making fresh bread
This is Toast Bread and it has Flax as well as barley malt syrup in it

The Marine Corps Birthday

Born in a Tavern in Philadelphia on 11/10/1775
Today is their Birthday. This is a small club and most who serve ask for it.
This is an image of one of their finest. Lewis ( Chesty )Puller. His Biography is a classic in military history.

His only son Lewis Puller Jr also served during  The Viet Nam War. He went on to write a Great book " Favorite Son" about his struggle being his fathers son and being blown up during that war.
There is no happy ending to this story.

War and Service to this nation is challenging at best. Tomorrow is Veterans Day if you know a Vet thank them.

This is liquid oxygen sparks falling to the earth next to Mississippi River
This is a corral made out of cobble on the border between Chile and Argentina at the border guard station.
We camped in the wilderness nearby at the Quatro Junta
and at time we could hear the people moving a herd of cows to the border.

King Arthur

This is the bridge between Hanover,NH and Norwich , Vt
It is a wonderfull place on the road to Baking School at King Arthur Flour. I have in the past few years enjoyed learning from the kind folks there. I recommend it as a place to share fun and learn new things.
They have a wonderful schedule that covers many interests and aspects of baking.

My focus is "Bread" but I have also tried many other things with some success and I will post that stuff as well.

This being my 1st attempt at a "Blog" I will focus it on the things I enjoy doing. Bread has become a great way to relax and share something we all enjoy.
